COLOURFUL BRIGHTON ELOPEMENT
Thrive Brighton by KIm Williams

“authenticity isn’t a look – it’s a feeling,
it’s alignment between who you are and what you create” – Kim Williams
At Thrive Brighton, photographer Kim Williams took her group on a creative sprint through the city – from Town Hall confetti to record-store kisses and a champagne-soaked finale on the pier. Her Thrive session captured everything she loves about her work: real couples, vibrant backdrops, and pure connection. Kim’s Brighton shoot embodied what makes Thrive special: learning through doing, building confidence in real-world conditions, and discovering your own creative rhythm.
Meg and Xander met Kim as wedding guests at one of her previous celebrations. When she was invited to speak at Thrive, she knew instantly that they’d bring her Brighton route to life. The shoot followed a “post-Town Hall 90-minute dash” format, echoing the way she often works with real couples – quick transitions, high energy, and spontaneous joy. They began in Brighton’s historic lanes, winding through Duke’s Lane with its colourful signage and cobbled character before pausing for coffee and connection.

THE SHOOT EXPERIENCE
Vinyl, Style, and the Power of Representation.
A highlight of Kim’s shoot was her stop at Cult Records, a Brighton favourite. The iconic record-cover shot took on new meaning here, with Meg and Xander using the sleeve not as a gimmick but as a reflection of their chemistry – bold, playful, and deeply intimate.
Working with an interabled couple, Kim created space for collaboration, letting the pair’s dynamic lead the shoot rather than directing every move. It was a powerful reminder that authenticity isn’t staged – it’s shared.
From there, the group headed toward Brighton Pier for a burst of seaside nostalgia. Between arcade games, laughter, and candy floss, Kim encouraged attendees to focus on pace – how to shoot fast, keep the energy up, and stay creative under pressure
This shoot wasn’t just about technique. It was about empathy, communication, and movement. Attendees left with new insight into photographing diverse couples – not as “different,” but as dynamic, layered, and full of life.
