Farmers Image of the Week: Celebrating Love Beyond Boundaries

As wedding photographers, our role is essentially to celebrate love. We are there on these special days to capture how it feels to stand with the person you love and show everyone you care about how deep that connection runs. This image is a fantastic example of a photographer documenting a bond between two people as they share their love with those closest to them. The couple’s expressions radiate joy and resilience, their love is strong, and their unity shines.

The strength captured in this image by Rhiannon Neale goes beyond just the visual. It’s about the powerful bond between the couple – one that may face unique challenges as a transgender pair but also radiates an undeniable sense of unity. The way they stand together in this image is a testament to their commitment to each other.

Rhiannon has done a superb job capturing a truly candid moment that feels composed in all the right ways. The background, which features a traditional Scottish tartan, subtly ties in cultural elements without overpowering the focus on the couple. The warm lighting on their faces highlights their expressions and makes them the emotional center of the frame.

Both individuals are holding hands, showing a physical connection that mirrors the emotional one they share. The red carpet adds a sense of occasion and importance to the image, grounding the moment in a larger narrative of celebration and love.

The couple’s attire includes personal touches -like the sneakers – that break the mold of what you might expect from a formal wedding portrait. This mix of tradition and personal expression reflects their unique bond, making the image even more powerful.

Ultimately, this photograph goes beyond just documenting a moment. It’s an image that celebrates a love that may look a little different – imagine what a dull industry it would be if weddings did all look the same. This couple’s love is immensely inspiring, and worthy of celebrating. It brightened up our feed and hope it does the same for you.

WHAT Rhiannon SAID

The sheer joy to have made it to this moment is so clear on their faces,

This was an “in the moment” capture, just as the celebrant announced the couple as Mr & Mrs and they were getting ready to walk down the aisle.

It had been a very heartfelt ceremony with happy tears and so much joy and love- this couple have overcome a lot together and gave each other the confidence and support to show up authentically as who they truly are to the world.

The sheer joy to have made it to this moment is so clear on their faces, and their guests could not have been more enthusiastic as they clapped and cheered them down the aisle.

THE TECH TALK

Farmers Image of the Week: Celebrating Love Beyond Boundaries

The light wasn’t great in the ceremony room- no big windows to work with so I went with a higher ISO. I also chose a lower shutter speed, balancing the low light with wanting the image to be in focus/sharp enough when they started moving.

The colours/pattern of carpet and curtains behind them is quite harsh and intrusive, and as such I chose a wider aperture so the focus to be on them and softened the backdrop/foreground.
