Modern City Wedding Photography: Farmers Image Of The Week
When this image from Emily and Katy popped up on my feed, I stopped scrolling immediately. There’s something so powerful in its restraint. The styling, the tones, the setting – it all comes together in such a self-assured and elegant way.
Let’s start with the couple. The bride’s sculptural dress is an absolute showstopper, especially with that dramatic bow-meets-train detail at the back. She’s serving old-Hollywood elegance with a thoroughly modern edge. The groom, in a crisp white tux and shades, complements her effortlessly. This is style, not flash. It’s refinement, not fuss.
Shot at the ever-popular Marylebone Town Hall, this image still feels fresh, and that’s no easy feat. Emily and Katy have taken the time to match the location with the couple. The muted stone columns echo the couple’s neutral palette, and the pocket of soft light gives just enough definition while keeping everything clean and understated.
Compositionally, it’s strong. The pillars frame the couple without overpowering them – there’s space to breathe, but still a clear connection between photographer and subject. The couple are posed, but they don’t feel posed, and that’s a skill.
In a sea of editorial-style wedding work, this stands out by being calm, confident, and considered. It’s proof that less can be more when it’s done well. You should check out their Insta post from this wedding to see that frock from behind, it is just stunning, and the girls have done it justice in their treatment.

“ The couple wanted something timeless and editorial, so as we had time we used the lush light and symmetry of the building to create a natural but timeless shot. “
This shot was taken just before their intimate ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall.
The couple wanted something timeless and editorial, so as we had time we used the lush light and symmetry of the building to create a natural but timeless shot.
They both were both very natural, we did not really need to art direct as they were already wearing sunglasses.
THE TECH TALK

Don’t rush, give your couple time to settle into the moment. These two naturally held hands and the sunglasses were not planned by us. In terms of tips, this wedding was elegant, unplanned and not rushed.
This allowed us to be creative and enjoy capturing what was in front of us instead of focusing on millions of unneeded added details.
