Destination Wedding Photographer Duo: Farmers Image Of The Week
How spectacular is this reception dinner entrance photo from Laura at In Between Days Photography?
This wife and wife duo have been going from strength to strength, not only firmly established in their home market of Ireland, but now also making waves as destination wedding photographers. Their work speaks to a deep understanding of storytelling, and the benefits of shooting as a team really shine through in an image like this.
I’ve always thought that duos have a unique opportunity when it comes to documenting a wedding day. There’s a freedom in knowing the other person has your back. When one of you isn’t chasing their own portfolio but instead working towards a unified vision, it means you can divide and conquer without compromising the cohesion of the story.
Here, Laura’s wide shot captures everything, the grandeur of the venue, the festoon lights stretching across the evening sky, the Mediterranean sunset, and that incredible energy of the crowd all rising to welcome the couple. There’s real rhythm and movement in the composition you can almost hear the cheering and the music.
Then there’s the added power in knowing that while Laura captured this cinematic wide, Alex was down with the couple, documenting their view of it all in a much tighter, more emotional frame. It’s a brilliant example of two perspectives telling one seamless story.
This image is not just beautiful, it’s clever. It places the viewer inside the celebration while also showing us the full scope of it. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to know more, especially about how that high perspective was achieved.

“ It was the perfect moment as the sky was dreamy pink, the napkins were out in full force, and they were so buzzing to get their party started!!”
We had organised golden hour shots with the couple on the rooftop of the venue, they then made their way to their guests in the courtyard.
Alex ran ahead to capture the excitement and the couples entrance from below, whilst Laura stayed above to capture the scene in full (the luxury of having two shooters).
It was the perfect moment as the sky was dreamy pink, the napkins were out in full force, and they were so buzzing to get their party started!!
THE TECH TALK

Laura had been shooting on an 85mm for the portraits on the roof, and quickly swapped it out for a 28mm so that she could emulate something similar to a low drone shot to capture the entire vibe and energy of the evening.
