For years I’ve suffered with depression and anxiety, but it’s only over the past couple of years I’ve actually realised what I’ve been dealing with isn’t ‘normal’ and certainly benefited from seeking help. For some parts of life, help can only go so far and that completely applies to being self employed. Being self employed and suffering from these mental health issues is extremely hard and if you’re not careful, these issues can severely affect your business as I’ve found out over the years. I’d like to take the opportunity to talk to people about how they can maintain their business while suffering from these issues. What they can do to spot symptoms and avoid sinking into a black hole of being unproductive and the feeling of wanting to quit. I’m 100% guilty of letting my business stagnate; letting it fester and wonder why the bookings aren’t coming in. I want to help people avoid that, and I’ll be talking about ways they can do so. Self help while being self employed is important, and I’d like to share my experience in dealing with it; including how I can ensure even the most mundane tasks are done as well as how I stop it from hindering my creativity so that my clients still come away with photographs they love.
