Back in 2011 when we started Photography Farm, I had no idea if it would work or where it would all lead to. One of the best and quite unexpected things about it all is the community that has grown up around The Farm. It was the first group of Farmers that set up the Facebook Group and since then, we have had meet ups when we can including an annual ‘Retreat’. When things are crazy busy in the middle of Summer, it has been lovely to have a break planned for Autumn and a catch up with the Farmers. This year, to also celebrate the launch of The Barn, I thought we would do something a little bit extraordinary so I planned a Rally to a secret destination. All the Farmers knew was the meeting place and that it was around two hours to the destination. Along with Alexa Clark-Kent, I went ahead the day before to set the clues and we played the whole thing live on Instagram. Seeing all their images and videos with our hashtag #farmersrally was brilliant fun, thanks to everyone who followed them and gave them support that day. They arrived to the sweetest little beach house tucked away behind the sand dunes on Camber Sands. Alexa had a round of Mojitos ready and we watched a glorious sunset on the beach. The idea of a retreat is to unwind so the next couple of days were taken up with blustery walks, pub lunches and catching up. I think our little dog Gilbert had the best week of his young life. It was such a beautiful time and I feel so lucky to have my Farmer Family.
