“I shot this at another workshop” said Lynn Shapiro when I asked her about having it for Image of the Week, “does that matter?” Absolutely not, we want these awards to be about celebrating your work and the investment you make in yourself. That might be your emotional investment, your financial investment or the effort you put into your craft and the development of your business.
I know how hard anyone who produces these events for photographers works to make the shoots happen and I am also happy to celebrate that. There are plenty of these around now and I’d love to find time to attend one. Lark where Lynn achieved this shot, always looks amazing. I’d love to just turn up and shoot for fun. I am also aware of how hard it is to shoot in front of your peers and to get shots that stand out.
This one is incredible, the model couple are beautiful, the styling is stunning but I especially love the sense of intimacy that Lynn has created. By choosing to shoot from above, the focus is just on their faces, the eye contact is piercing but it’s that hand, cherishing her lover’s face that makes this image special.
