I know what you are thinking.. ANOTHER Scottish winner? Trust me, I don’t go looking for specific types of images for this. But dang those Scottish landscapes just keep delivering epic after epic shot. Let’s face it Scotland is more than slightly having a moment right now. The amount of couples heading there for elopements and shoots is insane and of course it’s so easy to see why.
It’s also great to see that couples are seeking out local photographers for lots of these jobs and the standard is so high up there right now. This incredible example of an elopement shot is from the hugely talented Andrew Rae. The couple travelled over from the US to have their ceremony on Skye and then had an adventurous photo session with Andrew. I’ll bet they are more than thrilled with the results. This one is perfectly framed and makes the most of the drama in the landscape. I don’t think anyone will argue that it is a worthy winner this week.

What Andrew says ...
“Diana & Mark had completely fallen in love with Scotland and decided to elope here from Oregon in the US. The wind and temperature was as biting as I’ve felt it and the couple had to use each other to keep warm during the ceremony. It was that cold that I was slightly concerned they would decide against venturing too far. Undeterred, and after a brief warm up in the car, they were still keen to go and explore. This frame was shot at the very end of where we had hiked out to and was very much a case of me giving it “just a tiny bit further” When I showed them the shot on the back of the camera, their smiles said it all“.
