What a week some of our Farmers have had. Sassy from Assassynation had an incredible Halloween shoot published on Rock n Roll Bride, look if you dare.. and our very own Hannah Millard has been announced as one of Rangefinders Magazine's 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography. If you are in the industry, you will know what an accolade this really is. It is judged by a highly revered panel of industry doyens who look at photographers worldwide and their bodies of work. This is a far cry from some of the utterly rubbish spammy lists posted by random companies to boost their SEO, that have been going around. To actually have your work and abilities examined by your peers and to be put on a list that some of the very best wedding photographers in the world have been on is an incredible achievement and all of us at Farm could not be more proud of Hannah.

When you go through Hannah's wedding images, it is easy to see why she has been given this award. Her eye is always fixed on the narrative and emotions of a wedding. She manages to capture moments another photographer might miss, as she takes the time to get to know her clients and bond with them. Everyone is comfortable in her presence, Hannah is just a lovely person to be around but she knows how to be quiet and let the story unfold. Her subjects lose their self-consciousness and the camera becomes a tool to snap up and file away moments of serenity, laughter, poise, silliness and all the stuff in between. This is why we asked Hannah to teach a class at Farm Week and why I have chosen this beautiful picture as our winner this week in celebration of her success and to show us the benchmark for real award winning photography.
