No I haven't picked my own image this week! This was my wedding but this particular shot is from my second photographer that day, the hugely talented Alexa Clarke-Kent. I always think that second shooters get a very different perspective if they come on the couple shoot than the main photographer. There is no pressure on them and so they have the time to hang back and see if they can spot a shot.

And that is exactly what happened here. While I shot into the city lights to get one look, Alexa spotted a much simpler composition and asked if she could shoot it. I trust her and I like to have the time myself to step back. In the end I much prefer her shot. By taking so much away, the focus becomes just on the couple. Don't ever think that just because the sun has set there are no more portraits to make. This is just street light and high ISO.
