We are in Brighton today teaching our two day Elements workshop in Brighton. It's Adam's day so it's all about flash. It's a really popular class as he teaches it in a very hands on, practical way. The photographers come to this class because they are self taught and they have just never mastered flash. They often avoid using it until they absolutely have to and then are not really in control of it. When they leave they either go on to use flash when they need it with a much higher level of competence or they fully embrace the creative possibilities of flash at weddings.

Which brings me to this image from Alexa Clarke-Kent. Many photographers quake with fear at the prospect of shooting fireworks. It's a one chance shot, over in a few minutes and you can bet the couple invested a big chunk of their budget on it so you need to get it right. So I love to see when someone pulls something epic out of the bag, like this one. It has drama, narrative and is technically spot on. Alexa has really embraced flash after attending the workshop and then coming back for the advanced class and her skill shines through.
